"The SODOH HIGASHIYAMA KYOTO" is an Italian restaurant located at the foot of Yasaka-no-to (Yasaka Pagoda) (Hokanji Temple), a scenic Kyoto landmark. The restaurant is housed in a renovated Japanese house that was the private residence of TAKEUCHI Seiho, one of the most famous Japanese-style painters of the Kyoto art world. 5 venues of various sizes are scattered around the 1,700 tsubo site, each offering atmospheric views and a wide variety of uses, including restaurants, weddings and corporate parties.
The restaurant offers a particular cuisine based on traditional Italian cuisine, combining Kyoto's local ingredients with the cuisine's zeitgeist and seasonality. The cuisine is full of creativity, yet traditional, with a focus on "Always new, always the same." The concept of the restaurant is both surprising and nostalgic.
The restaurant offers lunch, dinner and sweets kaiseki courses, as well as birthday and marriage proposal plans, making it a great place to spend a special moment.
